FOOD / NEWCASTLE : DOUGHHEADS

The line was long today my friends... just like it had been yesterday, and the day before yesterday, and the day before yesteryear...

As soon as I entered the shop I channeled my inner Homer Simpson, with the only words I could mutter being mmmm donuts....

To be quite frank, I'm honestly surprised that they don't have a sign in the doorway saying "Careful wet floor" from all the drool coming from everyones mouths as they eye off the sweet sweet treasure.

Each flavour at Doughheads looked better than the next - Lemon Meringue, Salted Caramel, Strawberry Rhubarb, but there was only one that was my Venus De Milo.. The Maple Bacon Donut. It was everything I hoped for and so so much more. I've always had the belief that bacon should be in every meal of the day - breakfast , lunch, dinner and desert is definitely no exception.

Now that I've been there and experienced the heavenly combination of the Maple Bacon Donut I know I'll be another hipster in the lineup waiting and trying not to slip on the "Wet floor". They have definitely hit a home run with this bad boy!
