Walking down George Street in the middle of the day, I caught a glimpse from across the street of what looked like the most amazing little speakeasy bar I had seen in along time. But atlas, my poor vision had struck once again and it was even better than what my brain conjured up, it was a room full of artisan breads, and it was called... the Dough Collective. I felt like a muggle that had somehow managed to stumble across Diagon Alley, like I had accidentally walked into the Leaky Cauldron, when in reality all I did was step off the busy sidewalk in George Street.
Everything about this place had me at hello. The fresh smell of yeast engulfed the room, the dark luxurious feel of the wooden boards and the dimly lit wooden walls made me feel like I was in an amazing little bookshop slash bar where only the ultimate hipster slash fashionista type people would be invited - no plebs allowed.

The selection was amazing - Chinese Goji Berry Roll, Choc-nana, Multi-grain Lychee Roll, Pork Floss Bun, Red Bean Twist with Matcha Powder and list continues. I had been so wrapped up in my own little world that I had not even realised the amount of people streaming in and out of the store, each with their own trays, packing on every last bit of bread that they could fit, as if they were giving it away for free.

My Mums favourite bread was the Chinese Goji Berry Roll. She couldn't stop raving about it for a week and bread as she knows it has been ruined for her ever since she has tried it. It contains goji berries, raisins, almond slices, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, black sesame and white sesame and has a texture that is very similar to a brioche. The Red Bean Twist with Matcha Powder also seemed to be extremely popular, with everyone that came in having at least one on their tray. The Pork Floss Bun was something I have never experienced before. It had shavings of pork on top and underneath had a layer of something creamy that I couldn't quite put my finger on, however once I started, I could not stop eating it.

When I go to sleep tonight, I'll make a wish to wake up and have a Chinese Goji Berry Roll waiting for me when I open my eyes. Hopefully Mum will read my post and make it come true. haha
