FOOD / ZETLAND : Taste Growers Market - Pistachio & Rosewater/ Chocolate Meringues

A lot has changed in Zetland since the last time I visited over a year ago. Back then, the best place to get food was S Thada Thai which is conveniently located next to the bottle shop and little grocery store which stocks my absolute favourite, Cherry Coca Cola. It definitely blew my mind when I came back to see that East Village had literally grown out of the ground overnight. There is so much more variety now, such as Mad Mex, Oliver Brown, Wok on Inn & The Village Crow ( My personal favourite cocktail has fairy floss coming out of the top). I really felt spoilt for choice as of where to eat!

Passing by on the way from breakfast, Mum saw the biggest Chocolate Meringues she's ever seen in her life and we had to stop and buy them. The Taste Growers Market has pastries, fresh cut meats, cheeses, fruits, vegetables, flowers, sauces and the list goes on and on. It really looks like an amazing delicatessen. Its definitely one of those places that you could easily spend hours at and not even realise that four hours has gone by... kind of like a casino.. which has no clocks or no way of knowing if it's day or night lol. Today however we were in quite the rush so we had to get the goods and get out quick.

There were two different flavours of meringues - 1. Chocolate 2. Pistachio and Rosewater. They were only $3.50 each and were the size of both my fists put together. They were hard and crumbly and not too sweet so you could definitely finish one of each flavour off as a snack between breakfast and lunch. I personally preferred the pistachio and rosewater flavour over the chocolate flavour and would have liked to have three more of the pink ones. I'll have to go back on a day when I'm free so I can take the time to properly go through and discover all the marvellous treasures hidden in the shelves.

Hopefully by the time I do go back they'll have realised its spelt meringue not "Meruinge". Oopsidaisys!!!!
